UNC Health in Caldwell Memorial Hospital's Family Practice Westpointe clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant I, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting.

The role includes patient rooming, data collection, medication reviews, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and assisting providers with procedures. Certification and BLS are required; a CAAM/ABHES-accredited MA program is preferred.

Qualificações

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program is strongly preferred but not required.
• Requires Medical Assistant certification by AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA or NCMA.

Responsabilidades

• Performs rooming and intake including vital signs, height and weight.
• Collects patient data and medical history.
• Reviews current medications and allergies; confirms preferred pharmacy.
• Assists provider during treatments and procedures.
• Collects specimens and performs phlebotomy.
• Administers medications under provider direction.
• Performs tests such as EKG and eye exams under supervision.
• Reviews records for routine health screenings.
• Maintains exam rooms and supplies.
• Provides after-visit instructions and educational materials.
• Dresses and prepares exam rooms; cleans sterilizes instruments.
• Assists with patient registration, check-in/out and scheduling.
• Answers clinic calls under supervision.
• Assist in emergencies as directed.
