Job summary

UNC Health is hiring a Medical Assistant I, Certified to support outpatient clinics in North Hills, Raleigh. The role provides routine clinical and administrative tasks under clinical supervision, contributing to efficient patient flow and quality care.

Responsibilities include rooming, data collection, assisting providers, phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic testing. Requires MA certification and BLS; prior MA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• MA program completion preferred but not required.
• Active Medical Assistant certification from recognized bodies required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA or ARC required.
• Experience as MA or externship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooming and taking patient data including vital signs.
• Collect patient history and medication list; review allergies.
• Assist providers during exams and procedures; phlebotomy.
• Administer medications under supervision and perform clinic tests (e.g., EKG).
• Ensure exam rooms stocked and ready with materials.
