Job summary

UNC Health’s Caldwell Memorial Hospital Family Practice Westpointe unit is hiring a Medical Assistant I, Certified for an onsite outpatient clinic in Lenoir, NC. The role supports providers with clinical and administrative tasks, rooming patients, drawing blood, and basic tests, under supervision.

There is a $5,000 two-year commitment incentive. Education and certification requirements include a CAAHEP/ABHES preference and national MA certs; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program is strongly preferred but not required.
• Certification by AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA/NCCT is required.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs rooming and intake, collects vitals and patient data.
• Maintains patient history and medication lists.
• Assists providers during exams and procedures.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Administers medications as directed by a provider.
• Performs routine tests such as EKG and eye exams.
