Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant I for an outpatient clinic setting in Hudson, NC. This full-time role supports providers and the care team with clinical and administrative tasks, including rooming, vitals, phlebotomy, and chart documentation in the EMR.

Qualifications include a Medical Assisting program (CAAHEP/ABHES preferred) and MA certification with BLS. Prior MA or externship experience is a plus; on-site schedule is Day Job.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program is strongly preferred but not required.
• MA certification from AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA is required or preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and taking vital signs and reason for visit data.
• Collect patient medical and social history and current medications.
• Assist providers during treatments and procedures as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy and basic specimen collection.
• Administer medications under provider supervision.
• Conduct tests such as EKG and eye exams as directed.
• Maintain exam rooms and prepare educational materials.
• Assist with registration, scheduling, and referrals.
