Job summary

Southcoast Health in Fairhaven, MA is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our primary care team. This 40-hour, day-shift role supports providers, manages patient flow, and ensures high-quality care in a patient-friendly clinic.

The position offers a $3,500 new hire sign-on and a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities include EMR use, patient privacy, test result communication, and potential medical interpretation.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent experience.
• National certification (AMCA, AAMA, AMT, CCMA, or NCMA) within 13 months of hire.
• BLS certification required; experience with EMR systems preferred.
• One year of medical assisting experience preferred.
• Vaccinations: influenza and COVID-19 as required unless exempt.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care and procedures in a primary care setting.
• Support efficient flow of patients and manage communications including test results.
• Utilize EMR and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Provide language interpretation if needed and coordinate follow-up care.
