Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a Per Diem, Day shift (8:00am - 4:30pm) in Primary Care – Fairhaven, MA. The role involves assisting providers, managing patient flow, and supporting the clinic with EMR utilization and patient communication.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school or equivalent plus specialized courses/training.
• National certification such as AMCA/AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA within 13 months of hire.
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Prior EMR experience preferred.
• 1 year of medical assisting experience preferred.
• Fluency in another language with medical interpreting preferred.
• Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption required.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Maintain efficient flow of patients in clinic or medical office.
• Communicate test results, schedules, and follow-up instructions.
• Use EMR and related software to access patient information.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Provide medical interpretation when needed.
