Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support a physician office in Kenwood Cardiology. The role involves updating health records, measuring vitals, preparing exam rooms, and ensuring accurate documentation within the MA scope of practice.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, chart preparation, reviewing tests and referrals, as well as clerical duties and problem resolution. Certification and BLS are required; prior experience in a medical office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the following (required): CMA; RMA; CCMA; NRCMA; NCMA; NCCT
• If incumbent is unable to obtain MA certification, an ABR-OE is acceptable (not accepted in SC)
• BLS basic life support required by hire for some locations; preferred prior to independent patient care
• One year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred) and two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (optional)

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community
• Prepares and reviews patient charts for upcoming visits, verifying test results and reports
• Measures vital signs: pulse, respiration, BP, weight, height
• Performs clerical duties: inventory, stock, referrals, phones
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems promptly
• Other duties as assigned
