Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care by preparing and rooming patients, assisting with exams, and handling scheduling, registration, referrals, payments, and medical records.

The role involves assisting with exams, lab procedures, and QI projects, with a 32-hour work week and daytime shifts. Certification in CPR/BLS is required within 90 days, and a clinical rotation background is preferred.

Qualifications

• ABHES/CAAHEP accredited medical assistant program required or equivalent accreditation.
• Clinical rotation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients, collects assessment data and prepares patient according to specific need.
• Assists in examination, treatment and other clinic procedures.
• Assists with laboratory procedures, screening tests and QI projects.
• Answers telephone and triages inquiries.
• Schedules appointments and manages scheduler entries.
• Makes reminder calls to patients.
• Greets patients, salespeople, and visitors.
• Registers patients and maintains up-to-date records.
• Coordinates referrals with insurance and physician offices.
• Collects payments and issues receipts.
• Prepares and maintains patient charts.
• Maintains and orders clinical supplies.
