Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's CHI Health Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant/ CMA at the CUMC-Bergan Cardiology Clinic. You will provide compassionate, high-quality patient care, perform essential clinical tasks, and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes.

The role requires strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and a patient-first mindset, with opportunities for sign-on bonus and education assistance for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP.
  • Current/valid certification for medical assistants (AAMA/CMA, RMA, NCMA).
  • Completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
  • Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reasons for visit.
  • Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
  • Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
  • Current/valid nationally recognized certification, registration or recognition for medical assistants (AAMA/CMA, RMA, NCMA)
  • Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
