Job Summary

Under supervision of the Clinical Services Director, the CMA will work closely with Primary Care Providers and Nursing staff, performing tasks within their scope of practice such as answering phones, phlebotomy, EKG, specimen collection, obtaining vital signs, escorting participants, and assisting with examinations and treatments. May administer medications or immunizations if within scope. Ensures exam rooms are prepared and stocked, and gathers information from participants as directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage participant flow and coordinate with schedulers.
  • Handle clinical documents securely, in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Enter medication and immunization histories into EMR.
  • Administer immunizations and medications as prescribed.
  • Communicate effectively with participants and healthcare team.
  • Prepare exam rooms, obtain vital signs, and assist in procedures.
  • Assist with lab specimen collection and processing.
  • Maintain inventory and cleanliness of clinical areas.
  • Follow safety, confidentiality, and infection control policies.
  • Participate in ongoing education and quality initiatives.
Experience and Education
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a CMA in healthcare.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current CMA license and BLS certification.
  • Hmong speaking required.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of CMA practices, phlebotomy, EKG, and safety standards.
  • Effective communication and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to react calmly in emergencies and basic computer skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
Work Environment/Job Demands
  • Experience with elderly or frail populations preferred; training provided if not.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance required.
  • Must be medically cleared and immunized prior to participant contact.
