An established industry player in healthcare is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join their dedicated team. **Responsibilities**
Under the direction of the healthcare provider, the Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for delivering patient care that promotes safety and wellbeing. This includes performing preliminary physical tests such as measuring blood pressure, recording weight, temperature, pulse, and respirations, and other measures as per clinical protocols.
• Perform general patient care following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the healthcare provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problems.
• Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as required.
• Administer medications and vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, or inhalant routes as ordered.
• Perform routine tests such as EKGs.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and follow up to ensure completion.
• Communicate test results and care plans to patients by phone or mail as directed.
• Prepare, clean, sterilize instruments, maintain equipment, and keep exam rooms stocked and orderly; dispose of contaminated items following protocol.
• Document patient care plans, tests, and examination results in medical records as directed.
• Escalate non-routine issues to the practice manager or healthcare providers.
• Complete safety checklists and quality controls as required.
• Ensure patient safety and privacy rights are protected.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the practice manager, MA Lead, or healthcare providers.
**Qualifications**
**_Required Education and Experience_**
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
**_Required Licensure and Certifications_**
- Current/valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or approved equivalent at hire/transfer.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
**_Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training_**
- Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood, and administer injections.
- Effective communication skills with staff and patients.
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment procedures.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Sound judgment and composure, with the ability to act appropriately in emergencies.
- A positive, caring attitude toward patients.
- Good computer skills with medical management software.
- Strong work ethic and professionalism.

**Pay Range**
$15.56 - $21.40 per hour.
