Job summary

Norman Regional Health System in Oklahoma seeks a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to provide specialized rehab for the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder in an outpatient setting.

You will evaluate patients, develop plans of care, fabricate custom orthoses, educate patients on orthosis use, and document services. Supervising assistants and collaborating with surgeons and other clinicians are integral parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• 3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.
• Current state PT or OT license.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions for upper-extremity conditions.
• Document Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
