Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist specializing in hand therapy. The role focuses on evaluating and treating conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, with emphasis on custom orthoses and post-surgical rehab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Doctor of Occupational Therapy or Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• 3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
