Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. You will assess patients, develop care plans, and oversee OT staff and students in an interdisciplinary setting.

The role includes orthotic/splint fabrication, postoperative and injury rehabilitation, and collaboration with surgeons and other clinicians to optimize outcomes. Licensure as PT or OT and CHT credential are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.
• Current state PT or OT license required.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability of the patient.
• Document Delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.

Education

Bachelor's degree

DPT or OTD preferred

Graduate of accredited OT program
