Job summary

Tishman Speyer is seeking a Certified Engineer to join our team at 407 N Maple. The Engineer will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across all systems, with a focus on health and safety and tenant-friendly operations.

The role requires experience in HVAC central plant operations and related trades, along with strong knowledge of building systems, safety procedures, and coordination with Building Management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of college or related trade schooling.
• Minimum of four years’ experience in HVAC central plant operations.
• Universal CFC Certification, if required by building Membership in the IUOE Local 501 is required within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the facility in accordance with government and regulatory requirements.
• Identify, enforce, and assess safety hazards and risks.
• Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
• Review monthly Service Request summaries to pinpoint and correct recurrent operational problems.
• Participate in incident investigations.
• Perform maintenance and monitoring reports to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, control, and fire, life and safety systems to keep building systems up to applicable standards.
• Maintain HVAC systems and equipment at optimum levels (e.g., cleaning, inspecting, and changing parts).
• Respond to tenant inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist Building Management team with emergency situations and take appropriate actions.
• Comply with departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
• Other duties as assigned.
