Job summary

Tishman Speyer seeks an Engineer for the Franklin Center, Chicago property. You will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across systems, with specialization in one craft area while supporting others.

Responsibilities include safety compliance, monitoring, responding to tenant inquiries, and assisting Building Management during emergencies. The role requires knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems, plus strong communication and problem-solving

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state equivalent.
• Two years of college or related trade schooling.
• Minimum of four years’ experience in HVAC central plant operations.
• Universal CFC Certification, if required by building
• Membership in IUOE Local 399 within 60 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the facility in accordance with all applicable government and regulatory requirements.
• Identify, enforce, and assess safety hazards and risks.
• Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
• Review monthly Service Request summaries to pinpoint and correct recurrent operational problems.
• Participate in incident investigations.
• Perform maintenance and monitoring reports to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, control, and fire, life and safety systems to keep building systems up to applicable standards.
• Maintain HVAC systems and equipment at optimum levels.
• Respond to tenant inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist Building Management team with emergency situations (e.g., fire alarms, chemical spills, hazardous conditions) and take appropriate actions.
• Comply with departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
• Other duties as assigned.
