Job summary

Tishman Speyer is seeking an Engineer for our Franklin Center, Chicago property. The role involves operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across systems, with emphasis on a single craft area while being skilled in others.

The engineer ensures health and safety standards while delivering a welcoming environment for tenants and visitors. Shift pattern is Friday–Tuesday, 11pm–7am, with Wednesday & Thursday off.

Qualifications

• Maintains safety standards and hospitable environment.
• Uses PPE for all tasks.
• Follows safety policies, procedures, and practices.
• Understands building systems and operating sequences.
• Aptitude for mechanical systems and computer-controlled equipment.
• Proficient with BMS Controls and MS Office.
• Mentors Helpers and leads on-site safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate facility in compliance with government regulations.
• Identify and assess safety hazards and risks.
• Record readings and adjust equipment for proper operation.
• Review monthly service summaries to fix recurring issues.
• Participate in incident investigations.
• Perform maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, structural, and life-safety systems.
• Keep HVAC systems clean and running at optimum levels.
• Respond to tenant inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Assist Building Management during emergencies and hazardous conditions.
• Follow policies for safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Maintain a clean, safe workplace.
• Other duties as assigned.
