Job summary

Forward Air Corporation in Minnesota is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, and move freight in a fast-paced dock environment. You will operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, use handheld scanners, and assist with documentation to ensure freight integrity.

The role requires a valid forklift certification, 3+ years of dock experience, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs with assistance. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure required.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs with assistance during shifts.
• Comfort with MHE and handheld scanners.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and reach trucks.
• Move, stage, and sort freight between dock doors and trailers.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight for accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment and follow PPE standards.
• Support dock productivity and training of other team members.
• Work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
