Qualifications

• Forklift certification is required (or ability to obtain before operating).
• 3+ years dock or warehouse experience required.
• Strong English communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to read numbers, labels, barcodes, and freight markings accurately.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for freight counts, quantities, and weights.
• Willingness to learn and use handheld scanners and freight-tracking devices.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and designated areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight to ensure accuracy and documentation integrity.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues or safety concerns to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dock environment and equipment.
• Learn equipment operation and safety procedures under supervision.
• Support dock productivity and workflow efficiency.
• Work assigned schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Safely handle oversized or high-value freight and use drums or pallets as required.
• Assist with dock coordination, workflow management, and problem resolution.
• Prioritize freight and coordinate task assignments, sometimes acting in a lead capacity.
