Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support operative and invasive procedures. You will prepare sterile instruments, maintain the sterile field, and assist the surgical team during procedures.

Qualified candidates hold an Associates Degree in Surgical Technology and national certification (CST/NBSTA/TS-C/NCCT). Prior perioperative experience is preferred, with on-call availability and commitment to patient safety and education.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Surgical Technology required.
• Certification CST/NBSTA/TS-C/NCCT required.
• One year perioperative or related surgical tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions as the scrub person and assists as trained during operative procedures by assembling supplies and equipment.
• Prepares and organizes sterile supplies and instruments and performs surgical counts with the circulating RN.
• Maintains sterile field and aseptic technique; assists with draping and provides instruments during procedures.
• Retrieves and labels specimens; reports implanted devices and drains to circulator.
• Prepares patient skin prep and clipping as indicated; inserts urinary catheter as required.
• Participates in patient safety measures and on-call scheduling as needed.
• Assists with pre/post procedure room cleaning and instrument processing.
• Supports ongoing education and competency verification.
