Job summary

Novant Health in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking an experienced scheduling and patient access specialist to support high-volume practices. You will handle scheduling of procedures, collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information, and secure complete signed orders for procedures.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• Minimum three years in scheduling, patient access, registration, billing, cash collections, insurance or pre-certification in a medical environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; organized and able to work under stress; team player; basic medical terminology; proficient in patient registration systems and basic PCs.

What We Offer

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School or GED, required.


• Experience: Minimum three years experience in scheduling, patient access, registration, billing, cashcollections, insurance and/or pre-certification, or related experience in a medical environment, required.


• Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, experience and competency in customer relation skills in a professional environment. Ability to organize and prioritize work in a stressful environment. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and is self-directed. Good problem solving skills. Basic medical terminology. Exemplary keyboarding skills and experience in patient registration systems and familiarity with personal computers. Basic knowledge of hospital performed procedures.
