Job summary

Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, NV seeks an experienced Building Maintenance Engineer to oversee and perform maintenance on electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. The role includes leading a shift, coordinating tasks, and ensuring safety and reliability of all engineering operations.

The position requires 5+ years in a similar role, 2+ years as lead engineer, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as building maintenance engineer in a hotel/casino/resort or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Lead Engineer or acting lead capacity.
• Must have valid driver's license and meet GSR driving requirements.
• EPA license preferred; Electricians’ license required for tasks in this area.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, pneumatic, hydraulic, and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all building/tower grounds systems and equipment, including repairs of electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, pneumatic, hydraulic, equipment and appliances.
• Maintain stock and inventory materials.
• Maintain and repair all equipment associated with engineering shop.
• Observe performance of Engineers and encourage improvement.
• Monitor workload of and adjust work assignment of engineer team accordingly.
• Estimate material and time for projects.
• Inform management staff of problems requiring maintenance and report any equipment deficiencies.
