Job summary

USO in Jacksonville, FL seeks a dedicated Center Operations Specialist to manage day-to-day center operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for service members and their families, with a focus on Mayport locations.

You will help plan programs and events, coordinate volunteers, monitor inventory and budgets, and collaborate with local partners to support the USO mission and ensure engaging experiences for the military community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years work experience in event management, marketing, retail, customer service, recreation facility or related role.
• Relevant experience in a non-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day Center operational procedures, ensuring a cost-effective, safe, welcoming and clean environment.
• Engage and interact with Center visitors, and serve as a subject matter expert about its amenities, tours, classes, programs and services; troubleshoot to resolve issues.
• Help to maintain Center operations within budget. Monitor and maintain inventory, and handle cash. Provide data for financial, operational and statistical reports.
• Create and maintain a Standard Operating Procedure file detailing local operational procedures and Center activities.
• Assist with planning and overseeing operational areas which may include programs, logistics, inventory management, budget, social media and database management.
• Assist with communications and awareness. Prepare announcements and photos for social media and local media.
• Deliver or assist in planning and evaluating new and existing USO programs and events on and off installations.
• Assist in researching and proposing new programs; implement changes as directed.
