Job summary

Centria Autism, through Life Skills Autism Academy, seeks a Registered Behavior Technician to provide in-center 1:1 and group ABA therapy for young children in Portsmouth, VA. The role runs full-time, 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with intensive teaching and natural environment training.

Responsibilities include data collection, following individualized treatment plans, training caregivers, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain current RBT certification (BACB)
• Must be willing to participate in background checks
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
• Willing to obtain TB test annually
• Must be physically able to perform job duties (lift up to 50 lbs, move on floor)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions
• Comfort with recording data on mobile devices and using digital applications
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong cultural competency and flexibility

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training
• Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols in the client’s treatment plan
• Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior
• Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with treatment protocols
• Ensure documentation is completed on time and per procedures
• Communicate with parents/caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by supervisors
• Report all critical incidents and safety concerns
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work/therapy environment
• Assist BCBA/BC in preparation of client materials, assessments, and skills acquisition
