Job summary

Centria Autism's Life Skills Autism Academy in Norfolk, VA seeks a dedicated Registered Behavior Technician to deliver one-to-one and small-group ABA therapy to young children. You will implement treatment plans, collect data, train caregivers, and maintain precise documentation in a fast-paced, center-based setting.

The role requires current RBT certification, 18+ years of age, and willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid; compensation ranges hourly with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain current RBT certification (BACB).
• Must be willing to participate in background check.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
• Willing to obtain TB test annually.
• Must be physically able to perform job tasks (lift up to 50 lbs).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; culturally competent.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
• Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols outlined by BCBA/BC.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
• Assist with parent and caregiver training aligned with treatment and behavior protocols.
• Ensure documentation is completed on time and per established procedures.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by BCBA/BC.
• Utilize safe procedures and report all critical incidents and safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment.
• Assist BCBA/BC in preparation of client materials, behavior assessments, and skills acquisition.
