What You’ll Do
  • Supervise and manage a CEI team on FDOT and other projects under the Senior Project Engineer's guidance.
  • Monitor construction activities and materials to ensure conformance with contracts.
  • Perform construction administration duties, documenting daily operations per FDOT standards.
  • Interpret contract plans and specifications impartially.
  • Exercise initiative and judgment to resolve staffing and construction issues.
  • Stay current with FDOT processes and develop internal project management procedures.
  • Maintain communication with clients, contractors, and staff about project activities.
  • Attend and lead meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Assist and potentially fill in for the Senior Project Engineer as needed.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
  • Civil Engineering degree + 2 years of experience in major roads/bridge construction.
  • OR, for non-degreed candidates: 8 years of relevant engineering experience, including 2 years in major road/bridge construction.
What You’ll Bring
  • Practical, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Public speaking skills are a plus.
  • Certifications: CTQP Final Estimates Level I & II, FDOT Advanced MOT, and others as required.
