Job description

RK&K is hiring a Project Administrator for our Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) team in Tampa, Florida.

As a Project Administrator, you will work under the supervision of a Senior Project Engineer or Construction Manager, providing on-site technical management for transportation construction projects. RK&K is a leading CEI firm in Florida, overseeing major transportation projects including new alignments, interchanges, bridge replacements, ITS/TSM&O deployments, tolling conversions, and express lanes.

Essential Functions

1. Oversee complex road and bridge construction projects, directing and assigning tasks to staff, and assisting in all project phases.
2. Operate with initiative and independent judgment within assigned tasks.
3. Assist in all phases of construction projects, including progress and final estimates.
4. Conduct internal quality assurance reviews to ensure contract compliance and evaluate staff.
5. Manage and supervise CEI Inspection teams.
6. Oversee inspections and testing for earthwork, asphalt, concrete, bridge structures, lighting, pavement markings, signing, signalization, and roadway safety components.

Required Skills and Experience

• Engineering or related degree with two (2) years of relevant transportation project experience, or
• Eight (8) years of CEI or roadway/bridge construction experience without an engineering degree.
• Experience with Florida transportation projects and familiarity with FDOT specifications and procedures.

Certifications

• Certifications may be obtained within six (6) months of hire, under supervision, with a training plan submitted.
• Required certifications include FDOT Advanced MOT, CTQP Final Estimates Level II, and CTQP Quality Control Manager.
