Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a tractor-trailer driver to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-points. You will operate long-haul equipment, perform pre-trip inspections, and maintain accurate logs according to DOT and company policies.

This role requires a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements, plus the ability to lift ~100 pounds and work flexible hours. Overnight stays may be required in some schedules.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• At least 1 year experience in the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT 391 regulatory requirements.
• LCV operation in specified states; meet LCV qualification standards.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and breakdown trailer sets requiring ~100 lbs lift several times daily.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, squat, and climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete training.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team; demonstrates initiative.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with DOT regulations and company procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Perform other duties as required.
