Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers. You will perform pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and secure loads while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.

You will communicate with dispatch and customers, identify additional business opportunities, and support the selling process. Some positions may involve chaining tires and other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat, and tank endorsements.
• HazMat endorsement must be obtained within 120 days of offer.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under applicable FMC regulations.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds and perform physical tasks daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication; basic math skills.
• Valid Motor Vehicle Record meeting company standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps and rope.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems.
• Communicate with customers to arrange pick-ups/deliveries and solicit additional business.
• May perform chaining of vehicle tires and other duties as needed.
