Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers. The role involves inspecting equipment, hooking trailers, handling freight with equipment, securing loads, and processing documents.

You will also communicate with dispatch and customers to determine pickup and delivery needs and seek additional business opportunities. The position requires a Class A CDL with endorsements and at least one year of recent truck driving experience, a valid MVR,

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic restriction allowed.
• One year of experience within the last three years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have an acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math; basic written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles/triples and straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and procedures.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers to determine needs and generate sales leads.
