Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver to pick up and deliver freight between Service Centers and customers, while supporting the sales process.

The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements, one year of recent experience (or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development) and a strong safety record. Candidates must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, work independently, and follow instructions. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• 1 year experience within last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT FMC regulations under 391.
• LCV experience in specified states and minimum standards.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds several times a week.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dolly connections.
• Handle freight with motorized/manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations.
• Collect cash or checks for freight charges and maintain records.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
