Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Wilmington, NC is seeking a CDL-equipped truck driver to operate residential and recycling collection routes. You will load waste, compact materials, and perform safety inspections to ensure efficient service on daily routes.

You will maintain accurate records, communicate issues to supervisors, and adhere to safety policies while delivering reliable service on schedule. This role may require overtime and interaction with customers on route.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License
• Minimum one (1) years of commercial driving experience OR CDL school certificate
• Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment

Responsibilities

• Operate a residential/recycling collection truck to collect solid waste and/or recyclables on specified routes.
• Load solid waste, yard waste and/or recyclables into the rear or side of the vehicle.
• Operate equipment on truck to compact trash into vehicle.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and required reports daily.
• Maintain route quality standards as predetermined by management.
• Communicate vehicle mechanical problems to supervisor immediately.
