Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a dedicated commercial driver to operate residential and recycling collection routes. You will load waste, perform basic compaction, and ensure safety and route quality throughout the day.

The role requires a valid CDL, the ability to complete inspections, and strong communication with a supervisor. You will work in a physically demanding outdoor setting on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• CDL is required to operate the truck.
• Must demonstrate safety-focused driving and equipment operation.
• Ability to understand and follow route documentation and maps.

Responsibilities

• Operate a residential/recycling collection truck on specified routes.
• Load waste/recyclables into the truck and assist with compacting.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required reports.
• Identify prohibited waste items and remove them from the cart or container.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Coordinate with supervisor to optimize routing and service quality.
