Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling in Columbus, IN is hiring Rear Load Truck Drivers to service waste and recycling routes. You will unload and haul materials, perform frequent truck entry/exit, and maintain cleanliness and safety on every shift.

Ideal candidates have a valid Class B CDL, DOT medical card, and at least 19 years old with clean driving records. The role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and travel between offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class B CDL.
• Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain prior to hire.
• Must be at least 19 years old.
• No more than 3 moving violations in last 2 years.
• No DUI/OVI in last 5 years or 2 in last 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide trash or recycling removal services safely and compliantly.
• Routinely enter/exit truck 300–600 times daily depending on route.
• Pull or push containers from enclosures or inside buildings.
• Replace receptacles neatly at curb or designated area.
• Clean up waste spills and overflows.
• Maintain and update route and driver logs.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and logs.
• Interact professionally with customers and provide excellent service.
• Manage packer blade and truck body cleanliness; keep cab clean.
• Deliver containers as needed; load bulk items when required.
• Operate other types of trucks as needed; perform other duties.
