Job summary

Republic Services is hiring a Driver Trainee to begin a structured CDL training program. The role leads to a Driver position across residential, commercial, industrial, or roll-off lines, with a clear path through hands-on training and documented safety practices.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complete Republic Services’ CDL training program and pass the state CDL exam.
• Complete twelve months of employment after obtaining a CDL.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the assigned vehicle.
• Learn to operate a heavy or commercial truck along a designated route and service each customer.
• Learn to load and unload waste, operate the packer and dispose of material at the designated facility.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them as required.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material and monitor vehicle condition to minimize downtime.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• After CDL, perform all Driver duties in one of the company lines of business.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
