Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver Trainee in the United States who will be trained to obtain a CDL and then move into a Driver role across our residential, commercial, industrial, or roll-off lines. The program includes classroom study, on-route training, and access to a training truck.

Upon CDL completion, you will complete 12 months of employment with Republic Services and begin performing driver duties with full safety and operational responsibilities across designated routes.

Qualifications

• Must have no prohibitions to obtaining a CDL.
• Completion of Republic Services' CDL training program is required.
• After CDL, a 12-month employment with Republic Services is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete the CDL training program, including classroom study, on-route training, driving experience, and resources to take the CDL exam.
• After CDL, perform Driver duties in Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll-Off lines of business.
• Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections per company policy.
• Report safety issues on standard reports.
• Read route sheets, follow maps, and service customers as assigned by dispatcher.
• Operate heavy or commercial trucks and dispose of collected material at designated facilities.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers per procedures.
• Monitor waste and vehicle conditions to minimize downtime.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
