Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver Trainee to be trained for a CDL and then transition into a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off lines. The program includes classroom study, on-route training, and resources to take the CDL examination.

Qualifications

• CDL training program enrollment expected.
• Must obtain CDL after training.

Responsibilities

• Complete CDL training program including classroom study, on-route training, and resources to pass the CDL exam.
• After CDL, perform Driver duties in Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off lines as assigned.
• Learn vehicle inspections and safety procedures, including pre-/post-trip checks.
• Operate heavy or commercial truck on designated routes and service customers per route plan.
• Follow safety policies and properly load and dispose of waste according to policy.
• Identify unsafe waste containers and monitor vehicle condition to minimize downtime.
• Perform duties after CDL attainment as a licensed Driver.
• Complete all other job-related duties as assigned.
