Job summary

Republic Services is offering a Driver Trainee program in the United States. Trainees will complete a comprehensive CDL training program, including classroom study and on-route driving experience, with access to a loaner truck to prepare for the CDL examination.

After earning a CDL, the trainee advances to a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll‑Off lines. Upon completion, trainees are expected to remain employed for twelve months and perform full pre/post-operation

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete Republic Services’ CDL training program, including classroom study, on-route training, driving experience, and resources to take the CDL exam.
• Complete twelve (12) full months of employment with Republic Services after obtaining a CDL.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and proper operation.
• Safely operate a heavy or commercial truck along a designated route and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or by the dispatcher.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers; monitor waste quality and truck condition to minimize downtime.
• After obtaining a CDL, perform all responsibilities of a Driver in one of the Company’s lines of business.
