Job summary

Performance Food Group seeks an experienced trainer to educate and develop delivery drivers in New Jersey. The role covers classroom and field training, reinforcing DOT compliance and safe delivery practices while aligning with company procedures and customer service expectations.

The position requires CDL A, DOT health card, 21+ years old, and 1–3 years of related driving experience in foodservice. You will work within a team, driving performance and safety improvements across routes.

Qualifications

• Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
• Required Experience: 1 - 3 Years.
• At least 2 years of route Driving experience overall.
• Route delivery driver experience in foodservice distribution with DOT knowledge.
• Fleet operations software knowledge (e.g. PeopleNet).
• Valid CDL A and DOT Health Card.
• Must be 21 years old.
• Meet state licensing/certification requirements where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits strong verbal and written communication; uses systems and tools effectively.
• Delivers hands-on driver training in classroom and field settings.
• Provides feedback on trainees' performance and development actions.
• Ensures adherence to DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Supports route delivery duties and maintains customer service standards.
• Performs duties to meet safety, service times, and cost targets.
