Job summary

PFG Customized in Kendallville, IN seeks an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn tractor-trailer or straight truck operations, intrastate and interstate. You will train on safe deliveries, customer interactions, and DOT compliance across routes including overnight and shuttle runs.

Expect 4- to 5-day work weeks with dispatch between 11pm and 4am. Benefits begin Day 1, uniforms provided, safety boot allowance, and a competitive package including retirement and education support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL A license and ability to meet state licensing requirements.
• Must be 21 years of age and able to pass background and safety checks.
• Internal PFG candidates require program completion or active trainee status.
• External hires require CDL and ability to complete training program.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program.
• Assist driver trainer and learn delivery procedures.
• Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections per DOT rules.
• Adhere to DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Load/unload freight, verify invoices, collect signatures and payments as required.
• Deliver orders on schedule and secure trailers and equipment.
• Record hours of service and maintain tidy driver areas.
