Job summary

PFG Customized in Lebanon, TN is seeking an entry level Driver Trainee to learn operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck on local, intrastate and interstate routes. You will deliver and unload a variety of food products while adhering to DOT regulations and safety standards.

The role includes a 4-day work week with Sunday–Sunday schedules and dispatch times from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Training spans the first two weeks under a 5-day schedule, with ongoing learning and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 0-6 months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL License.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and move freight weighing 60–90 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Attends and successfully completes Driver Trainee training program as required.
• Rides with and assists driver trainer in deliveries.
• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Inspect trailer and verify proper loading and paperwork.
• Drive to deliver customer orders according to route schedule.
• Unload products, obtain signatures, and handle returns as needed.
• Ensure equipment is secured at all times.
• Complete daily hours-of-service records and paperwork.
• Perform general housekeeping in tractor and loading dock areas.
