Job summary

FedEx Freight in Seattle is hiring a driver responsible for operating tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles. You will perform safety inspections, manage logs, and follow dispatch instructions while delivering to service centers and turn-points. The role may include non-driving duties such as forklift operation and dock work.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or CDL learner permit (CLP) required.
• Valid MVR according to company standards.
• DOT regulatory requirements compliance.
• Basic math and measurement abilities with or without calculator.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift about 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Comfort sitting for long periods and physical stamina.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre/post/inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies to/from tractors.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions.
• Comply with DOT hazmat rules and company procedures.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Occasionally perform city driver or freight handler tasks.
• Handle freight with forklift, pallet jack, or hand truck when needed.
