Job summary

Ritter Lumber is seeking a CDL Class A/B Driver to transport lumber, millwork, and building materials to customer locations. You will ensure safe operations, proper cargo securement, and timely deliveries while adhering to DOT/FMCSA regulations.

The role requires strong safety awareness, ability to work with warehouse and dispatch teams, and a commitment to exceptional customer service on job sites.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B license is required.
• Experience operating commercial vehicles and moffetts preferred in lumber/building materials.
• Strong safety and time management skills; customer-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Delivery Operations: Safely operate CDL Class A or B vehicles to transport lumber and building materials to customer sites.
• Load Securement: Properly secure all materials using straps according to FMCSA guidelines.
• Receiving & Material Handling: Assist with loading/unloading materials using forklifts and coordinate with warehouse staff.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to DOT/FMCSA rules, including hours-of-service and inspections; maintain credentials.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain delivery logs and compliance paperwork, submit to Delivery Manager.
• Customer Service: Represent the company professionally at job sites; verify orders and assist customers.
• Team Collaboration: Coordinate with dispatch, warehouse, and yard teams to maintain schedules.
