Job summary

Ideal Lumber Company seeks a CDL Class A/B Driver to transport lumber and building materials to customer locations. You will ensure safe, timely deliveries and maintain compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations while delivering a professional customer experience.

The role collaborates with warehouse, dispatch, and delivery teams, requiring strong safety awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B license required.
• Prior experience operating commercial vehicles and moffetts preferred.
• Familiarity with DOT and FMCSA regulations, cargo securement standards, and basic vehicle maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate CDL Class A or B vehicles to transport LBM and millwork products to customer sites.
• Properly secure all materials using straps and cargo securement techniques in accordance with FMCSA guidelines.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials using forklifts and coordinate with warehouse staff.
• Adhere to DOTFMCSA regulations, including hours-of-service, vehicle inspections, and safe driving practices.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report maintenance issues.
• Maintain delivery logs, trip records, and compliance paperwork.
• Represent the company professionally at job sites and customer locations; assist with unloading and verify order accuracy.
• Coordinate with dispatch, warehouse, and yard teams to maintain delivery schedules.
