Job summary

Herrman Lumber Company is hiring a CDL Driver to safely transport lumber and building materials while complying with DOT regulations. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, securely load materials, and interact professionally with customers to ensure accurate deliveries.

This role also includes supporting yard tasks and adhering to safety protocols, with opportunities for competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

CDL Class A or B required.
1 year of commercial driving experience.
Must lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) to transport lumber and materials.
Transport materials on interstate highways and across state lines.
Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT.
Report any mechanical issues immediately.
Secure loads properly with straps and tarps as required by regulations.
Follow DOT safety rules, wear PPE, and maintain safe driving practices.
Interact professionally with customers and suppliers for accurate deliveries.
Maintain records of deliveries (bills of lading, receipts, fuel logs).
Assist with loading/unloading and yard organization when not driving.
Report accidents, injuries, or safety violations promptly.
Participate in company safety and DOT training sessions.
Immediately report safety concerns or equipment issues to management.
Comply with drug and alcohol testing requirements including pre-employment, random, and post-accident testing.
