Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring for a driver/dock position in Oregon. Starting rate: $27.26 per hour. Responsibilities include operating tractor-trailer combinations, dock work, and forklift handling. Must meet CDL/CLP, MVR, and DOT requirements. Role entails safety inspections, paperwork, and freight handling with potential for independent or team work.

Qualifications

Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or a commercial learning permit (CLP).
Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations 391.
Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
Basic written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds several times a day.
Ability to sit for extended periods and maneuver in/out of trucks.
Ability to work independently and/or as a team.

Responsibilities

Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
Perform pre/post/inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
Handle freight with motorized/manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
Complete required documentation and reports.
Collect checks for freight charges and maintain related docs.
