Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and straight trucks, and to support dock duties. You will perform safety inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and manage freight on the dock to ensure on-time deliveries.

The role requires a Class A CDL or CLP, a valid MVR, and compliance with DOT regulations. Forklift and pallet jack experience is a plus; strong teamwork and reliable communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or a commercial learning permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must meet Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards and DOT regulatory requirements.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight with equipment like forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Assist customers with pick-up/delivery needs.
• Where needed, perform road driver or freight handler duties.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required
