Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver trainee/qualified driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or straight trucks. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and handle freight on docks using powered equipment.

Responsibilities include securing freight, recouping damaged goods, completing documentation, and communicating with Dispatch for delays or changes. CDL/CLP and clean MVR are required, with DOT regulatory compliance expected.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or commercial learner permit (CLP).
• MVR acceptable per hiring standards.
• DOT regulatory requirements knowledge under FMC regulations 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 lbs repeatedly.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-/post-trip and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollys.
• Move freight using forklift, pallet jack, or hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
