Job summary

FedEx Freight in Maine is seeking a professional truck driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or straight trucks, and to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections. You will pick up and deliver trailers between service centers, with occasional forklift and dock duties.

This role requires a Class A CDL, a clean MVR, and DOT knowledge. You will maintain logs, follow dispatch, and handle hazardous materials safely.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch regarding delays, arrivals, and equipment issues.
