Job summary

FedEx Freight in Bangor, ME is seeking a driver/operator to run tractor-trailer combinations and perform dock duties, including forklift operation.

You will conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, secure freight, and communicate with Dispatch to manage delays, routes, and equipment issues.

Starting pay is $25.64 per hour with a typical range to $30.55; benefits include health coverage, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or commercial learning permit (CLP).
• Must have an acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMCSA 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip/during-trip/post-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Perform freight handling with forklift, pallet jack, hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, rope.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch regarding delays, equipment problems, etc.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
• Coordinate with customers on pick-up/delivery needs.
